You can use potatoes in cooking quite widely, you just need to improvise a little. I suggest making donuts from this wonderful vegetable.
It is necessary
- - dry fast-acting yeast - 0.5 teaspoon;
- - sugar - 50 g;
- - milk - 70-80 ml;
- - mashed potatoes - 170 g;
- - egg - 1 pc.;
- - vanillin - 1 teaspoon;
- - flour - 350 g;
- - salt - 0.25 teaspoon;
- - ground nutmeg - on the tip of a knife;
- - butter - 60 g.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the milk in a suitable sized saucepan and heat it until warm. Then add fast-acting yeast to it along with granulated sugar. Set the dough aside for about one quarter of an hour.
Step 2
After peeling the potatoes, boil them until fully cooked, then chop them to a puree mass and let cool. In warm mashed potatoes, add the matched dough, as well as vanillin and a raw chicken egg. After mixing everything well, add 1/2 part of the dry mixture consisting of ingredients such as wheat flour, nutmeg and salt there. Knead the dough for future donuts.
Step 3
After softening the butter, add it to the bulk. Then, in several steps, pour the remnants of the flour mixture there. The kneaded dough should not only be soft, but also not stick to your hands.
Step 4
Covering the resulting dough with a towel, put it in a bowl with warm water or a warm enough place for about 1.5-2 hours. With this procedure, it will become 2 times more than it was.
Step 5
Divide the risen dough into pieces and roll out of each into round, fairly even balls. Cover them with a tea towel. In this form, they must remain for at least 20 minutes.
Step 6
Put the balls in a bowl with a thick bottom, in which there is a fairly large amount of hot vegetable oil. Fry the future donuts until they are golden brown.
Step 7
Use a paper towel or napkins to remove excess oil from the balls. Potato donuts are ready! Decorate with powdered sugar if desired.
