It is necessary

  • - semolina - 2 glasses;
  • - butter - 120 g;
  • - sugar - 2 glasses;
  • - walnuts - 100 g;
  • - water - 4 glasses;
  • - vanilla sugar - 1 sachet;
  • - cinnamon - 1 teaspoon;
  • - lemon zest - 1 teaspoon;
  • - sugar pood - 1 tablespoon;
  • - bread crumbs - 1 tablespoon;
  • - vanillin - a pinch.

Instructions

Step 1

Chop the walnuts. It is best to use a grater for this procedure. Then combine them with semolina. Mix everything well.

Step 2

Place butter in the pan. Having completely melted it, add to it a dry mixture consisting of semolina and grated walnuts. Fry it until golden brown.

Step 3

Boil water by pouring it into a saucepan. After grating the lemon zest, add it to the water along with ingredients such as granulated sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Mix everything well, then cook for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Add the resulting granulated sugar syrup to the semolina and walnuts fried in a pan. Mix everything properly. Cook the resulting mass by covering and stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.

Step 5

Remove the resulting mass from the pan and place in a dish that was greased and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Spread it over the entire surface so that it lies in an even layer. It is most convenient to level the future halva with a spoon, previously soaked in cold water.

Step 6

When the dessert has cooled, remove it from the crockery onto a flat dish. Sprinkle the powdered sugar / vanilla sugar mixture over the treat. Gris-halva is ready. Feel free to serve it to the table.
