It turns out that halva can be made not only from sunflower seeds, but also from carrots. Carrot halva is very popular in India. I suggest you cook it too.
It is necessary
- - fat milk - 2 l;
- - carrots - 1 kg;
- - sugar - 150-250 g;
- - roasted nuts;
- - raisins;
- - cardamom grains - 2-3 pcs.;
- - ghee - 50 g.
Instructions
Step 1
With carrots, do the following: rinse thoroughly, peel, then chop. For the last procedure, it is best to use the finest grater.
Step 2
Pour the fat milk into a deep saucepan. When it boils, add the grated vegetables into it. Add the crushed cardamom seeds to it. Reduce the fire on the stove to the very minimum. Cook the resulting mixture, stirring from time to time, for 2-2, 5 hours. Thus, the volume of the carrot mass will decrease and it will acquire a rich color.
Step 3
When little liquid remains in the carrot mass, add granulated sugar to it. The amount of sugar depends only on your tastes: if you like sweets, then pour in more, if on the contrary, then, accordingly, less. Mix everything as it should.
Step 4
Put the resulting mixture in a pan and fry until almost all the liquid has evaporated from it.
Step 5
Place ghee in a saucepan. If not, you can use a creamy one. Put the carrot mass in the same place. Fry it for a few minutes, then add the raisins and any toasted nuts to it. Mix everything thoroughly. Carrot halva is ready! Serve warm.
