Veal goes well with red wine, the meat is juicy and tender. In addition, fresh tomatoes and various spices are added to the dish - this adds flavor to it. The dish is being prepared in clay pots.

It is necessary

  • - 250 g of veal;
  • - 2 small tomatoes;
  • - 30 ml of red wine;
  • - 2 cloves of garlic;
  • - 1 bay leaf;
  • - various spices (black pepper, allspice, rosemary);
  • - salt.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the lean piece of veal, dry it on napkins, cut into large enough pieces. Peel the tomatoes, for this cut each tomato crosswise and place in boiling water for a couple of seconds. Cut the tomato pulp into large rings.

Step 2

Fold the meat, tomatoes, chopped garlic in layers in a pot (you can just cut it into wedges). Put a pea of allspice and black pepper in the middle, sprinkle with rosemary on top. Fill with water. You can cook in one large pot or in several portions.

Step 3

Place the pot / pots in a cold oven, turn it on to heat up to 200 degrees. Be sure to slightly slide the lid of the pot to allow the dish to "breathe". Wait one hour, then pour red wine into a pot, cook in an already fully heated oven for another 40 minutes.

Step 4

Veal in red wine with tomatoes is ready, you can serve in a pot or put on plates. Boiled potatoes or boiled aromatic Jasmine rice are great as a side dish. Additionally, juicy meat can be garnished with fresh herbs.
