Many Mexican recipes often require a flour tortilla called a tortilla. These cakes can be bought at the store, or you can try to bake them yourself.
It is necessary
- - 250 gr. flour;
- - 30 gr. flour for cakes;
- - a pinch of salt;
- - 60 gr. butter;
- - 160 ml of water.
Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, mix both types of flour and salt.
Step 2
In another bowl, melt the butter.
Step 3
Mix water with oil and pour into flour. Knead a homogeneous elastic dough, adding a little flour if necessary.
Step 4
Cover the finished dough with a towel and leave it for an hour to rest.
Step 5
Divide the dough into 8 equal parts, form balls from them.
Step 6
Roll out the balls into flat cakes with a diameter of 19 cm. Do not pour too much flour on the work surface, otherwise the flat cakes will be too crispy and crumbly.
Step 7
In a frying pan without oil, fry the cakes on each side for 20 seconds. You need to use them for cooking immediately.
