It is necessary

  • -1 kg wheat baking flour
  • -1 tsp soda
  • -200 g butter
  • -1 tbsp. olive oil
  • -3 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • -cinnamon
  • - 1 orange peel
  • - juice of 1 lemon
  • -1 tbsp. finely chopped walnuts
  • - 2 tbsp. water
  • -1 tbsp. liquid honey

Instructions

Step 1

Sift flour on the table with a slide, make a depression in the center, add a pinch of baking soda. Whisk the softened butter until white, add sugar, olive oil, cinnamon and orange peel, stir well and combine with flour. Knead the dough out of the mixture. After letting the dough "break up" for a few minutes, roll it into a rope and cut into pieces, 5-6 cm thick, and then form oval cookies.

Step 2

Put the cookies on a greased baking sheet and place the bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. As soon as the cookie acquires a beautiful golden hue (after about half an hour), remove and refrigerate it. Next, prepare the syrup by mixing water and sugar in a saucepan and bringing the mixture to a boil.

Step 3

Reduce heat to medium, add honey and lemon juice, stir lightly and remove from heat, letting syrup cool slightly. Using a slotted spoon, dip 2-3 cookies each in warm honey syrup, and then place on the wire rack.

Step 4

Repeat this procedure twice, making sure that the cookies do not get wet or fall apart. After placing the biscuits soaked in sugar syrup on a platter, sprinkle generously with chopped walnuts.
