Empanadas are pies native to Argentina. At first glance, they are no different from simple pies, but there it was! Try these baked goods and you will feel the difference yourself.
It is necessary
- - puff yeast dough - 750 g;
- - eggs - 2 pcs.;
- - ham - 95 g;
- - olives - 40 g;
- - Cheddar cheese - 30 g;
- - egg yolk - 1 pc.
Instructions
Step 1
After boiling the eggs hard-boiled, peel them and chop them with a knife into small enough pieces. Chop the olives and ham, and pass the Cheddar cheese through the smallest grater. Mix all of the above ingredients thoroughly. This will give you the filling for the Argentinian empanadas.
Step 2
Put the finished puff yeast dough on a prepared work surface and make a layer out of it by rolling it out with a rolling pin. Then, using any object that is 15 centimeters in diameter, cut out the circles. You should get exactly 30 of them.
Step 3
Place one tablespoon of the prepared filling on the formed circles. Covering the mixture of eggs, olives, ham and cheese with a free edge, pinch the patties so that you have a seam like a twisted string.
Step 4
For a given number of patties, you need at least two baking sheets. Lubricate each with a sufficient amount of oil, then place the empanadas on them at a distance of at least 2 centimeters from each other. Lubricate the pies with a little whipped egg yolk in a separate bowl, then send them to the oven and cook at 220 degrees for one quarter of an hour. Be sure to bake this dish on the middle shelf.
Step 5
Always serve baked goods hot. Empanadas are ready!
