In this recipe for a delicious cake, oranges are added directly with the peel, you don't have to worry - the zest in the finished dessert does not taste bitter at all. It turns out a unique citrus aroma, poppy adds originality to the cake.
It is necessary
- For the test:
- - 175 g of sugar;
- - 150 g flour;
- - 150 g of ground almonds;
- - 3 eggs;
- - 2 tbsp. poppy spoons;
- - 1, 5 tsp baking powder.
- For oranges in syrup:
- - 300 ml of water;
- - 300 g of sugar;
- - 2 oranges.
- For the cream:
- - 100 g of butter;
- - 100 g of sugar;
- - 4 eggs;
- - zest and juice from 1 orange.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the oranges into slices, cover with water, add sugar, put on the stove, bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes over low heat. Drain the resulting sweet syrup. Select the most beautiful orange circles, place them on the bottom of the oiled tin (take a split form). Sift flour with baking powder, mix with poppy seeds and ground almonds, you can use any other nuts.
Step 2
Beat eggs with sugar, mix the remaining oranges with 75 ml of syrup, chop. Combine the oranges with the egg mixture. Add dry mixture in small portions. Pour the finished dough into a mold, bake for about 40 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
Step 3
Cool the resulting cake layer, cut into two even parts.
Step 4
Now prepare the cream. Take a refractory dish, beat in eggs, add orange zest and juice, sugar, butter, put in a water bath. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally. The cream should thicken.
Step 5
Spread the cakes with orange cream, put them in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. After that, you can serve the orange-poppy cake with tea.
