The bright and tasty Oki-Doki non-alcoholic cocktail will become the highlight of the children's table. The secrets of its preparation lie in the preparation of all ingredients from natural products at home.
How to make an Oki-Doki cocktail at home
For a traditional Oki-Doki cocktail, you need only three ingredients: grapefruit juice, coconut syrup and banana syrup in a ratio of 5: 1: 1. The liquid must be mixed in a shaker and poured into glasses.
At first glance, everything is extremely simple. But in the process of making a cocktail, questions may arise: "What is coconut syrup?" and "Where can I get a shaker?" Having understood everything in order, you can quickly prepare a delicious and healthy cocktail for the children's menu.
The English expression Okey-dokey means "Good!", "Of course!" "With pleasure!" Therefore, the name of the cocktail was not chosen by chance, because children and adults drink this light drink with a rich taste with great pleasure.
All of the ingredients can be bought at the supermarket or convenience store, but if you are preparing a shake for children, it is better to make them yourself from natural products without preservatives. The easiest step is to get grapefruit juice. The fruit will only need to be washed, cut in half, and squeezed out using a citrus juicer.
To make banana syrup, you will need ripe peeled bananas and sugar in a 1: 1 ratio. Chop the bananas until puree, add sugar and simmer over low heat for five minutes. Strain and cool the resulting liquid.
Homemade coconut syrup
Homemade coconut syrup, unlike store bought one, retains all the nutrients, such as proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins B1, B2, B3, C. For it you need ripe coconut. After punching two holes in the dark eyes of the coconut, pour the water out of it. Place a sturdy knife in the center of the eyes, where you can see the division of the coconut into three parts. Knock on top of the handle, twist the knife until the nut cracks.
Now, scoop out the pulp, chop it in a blender and mix with the coconut water in a saucepan. Cover everything with warm water to coat the coconut and simmer over low heat, not boiling. The liquid should be deep white. Add granulated sugar to taste and boil. Then strain and cool the syrup.
You can decorate the cocktail with special umbrellas, a circle of grapefruit, a leaf of mint, bright twisted tubes.
Ready cocktail
The shaker for mixing ingredients can be replaced with a simple plastic juice bottle with a wide mouth. Pour grapefruit juice, banana and coconut syrups into a bottle and toss in some ice cubes. Close the lid and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Pour the cocktail into glasses so that the ice stays in the bottle.
