Many people love cottage cheese as it is a great breakfast for both adults and children. But few people know how this product differs from its relative - ordinary cottage cheese, how it is useful and how to cook it at home.
Grain curd is a curd with a reduced fat content. 100 grams of the product contains from 0% to 9% fat. Which is very important for a healthy diet. However, this is not the only plus of this product. It contains an essential protein for the body, which contains useful amino acids - lysine, choline and methionine.
Cottage cheese is rich in minerals such as calcium and phosphorus. Therefore, it is very useful for children. This fermented milk product is recommended for use by nutritionists. The only people who are contraindicated in cottage cheese are people with lactose intolerance.
Of course, you can buy such a product in any supermarket, but to be sure that it really does not contain any harmful additives, it is better to cook it yourself, especially since it will not be too difficult.
Recipe:
- 1 liter of milk;
- 1, 5 tbsp. calcium chloride;
- low-fat cream;
- salt.
Heat low-fat milk to 40-50 ° C. We add calcium chloride to it, which can be bought at any pharmacy. Stir the milk constantly, leaving the pan over low heat. You will see how the milk curdles and gradually curd grains are formed.
Next, we lower the pan with the future cottage cheese into a container with cold water, continue to stir the contents. As soon as the cottage cheese has cooled, we filter it through cheesecloth. The resulting curd grains, if desired, can be salted and seasoned with low-fat cream.
The resulting cottage cheese can be used with fruits, jam, preserves, or added to salads. You can also use it as a separate dish, crumbling some fresh parsley into cottage cheese.
Bon Appetit!
