Prunes are not only extremely healthy, but also very tasty dried fruit. It is included in many desserts, soups, meat and vegetable dishes. Prunes are an ideal snack, as they are rich in vitamins, fiber, and also very useful potassium, which has a beneficial effect on the heart, blood pressure and kidneys. But all these qualities - taste and benefits - are inherent only in those prunes that were stored in the right container and in suitable conditions.

Instructions
Step 1
Suitable containers for storing all dried fruits, and prunes are no exception, are either special wooden boxes with air access, or hermetically sealed glass, plastic or metal containers.
Step 2
If you have a wooden container for dried fruit, store your prunes in it in a well-ventilated, dry and cool place.
Step 3
In order to store prunes in an airtight container, the container must first be thoroughly washed with soap, rinsed with boiling water from the inside and dried. Remember to do the same for the container lid.
Step 4
Transfer the prunes to a container and close the lid. Place a sticker on the container with information about the production date and shelf life of the prunes. These data must be indicated on the packaging. If you bought prunes on the market, then be guided by a shelf life of 6 to 12 months. Store dried fruit containers in a cool, dry place.
Step 5
If you don't take prunes out of the container every day, check the dried fruit at least once a week to make sure no moisture has entered the container. If you see that the humidity is high, remove the prunes and dry them. Wash and dry the container as well. Return the prunes to the container and find another storage location with less moisture.
Step 6
If your apartment has a humid and warm atmosphere, it is better to store prunes in the refrigerator, on the door. Zip bags work well for this. Spread the prunes in small portions into bags, zip them, but not completely, leaving a couple of centimeters for ventilation.
