Pediatric doctors with severe peeling recommend treating the skin of newborns with sterile vegetable oil. Types such as soybean, sunflower, corn, olive, flaxseed oil are suitable. How to make sterile oil at home?
It is necessary
- - any vegetable oil;
- - glass jar;
- - baking soda.
Instructions
Step 1
Take an empty glass half-liter jar without chips or cracks or any other defects that may break it during processing and sterilization. Rinse thoroughly with baking soda.
Step 2
Rinse the inside of the jar several times with boiling water. If you have a double boiler, put a sterilization jar in it for five minutes so that small organisms do not get into the vegetable oil when pouring.
Step 3
Cool the jar to room temperature. To do this, place it upside down on a clean cloth (for example, a lint-free towel or other smooth but clean cloth).
Step 4
Take a sterilized glass half-liter jar and fill it with about 250 ml of ordinary vegetable oil (preferably for children, use olive or sunflower oil).
Step 5
Place a 1/2 liter jar of plain vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Fill the pot two-thirds full with water, but make sure it doesn't get inside the jar.
Step 6
Sterilize a half-liter jar filled with oil in a saucepan by placing the pan on the lowest hotplate for about forty minutes.
Step 7
Remove the oil jar from the pot and leave to cool at room temperature. The oil is ready to use after it has cooled completely.
