Description of sweets

Shaker Bura is an oriental patterned biscuit distributed mainly in Azerbaijan. It is a dish made of delicate crumbly waffle casing and dry sweet nut filling. It is traditionally prepared in Iran for the Spring Equinox holiday on March 21, which is called Novruz in this country. Since ancient times, the shaker borax symbolizes the moon, hence its original crescent shape.

Like other sweets of the East, it is quite easy to cook shaker buru at home. All the components for this dish will not be difficult to find, they are sold in any supermarket.

How to cook

Ingredients:

For the test:

- wheat flour, 400 grams;

- yeast, 10 grams (or 1 sachet);

- sour cream, 2 tbsp. spoons;

- milk, 100 ml;

- eggs, 5 pcs;

- butter, 100 grams;

- salt.

For filling:

- nuts of your choice (hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, etc.), 300 grams;

- sugar, 250 grams;

- ground cardamom, 1 tsp;

- vanillin, 5 grams (or 1 sachet).

Heat the milk a little and fill it with dry yeast, leave for 15 minutes. Sift flour into a deep bowl. Add softened butter, sour cream, eggs, salt and yeast to it. Stir all ingredients thoroughly, knead the dough. After this procedure, cover it with a cotton tea towel and let it sit for 1 hour. During this period, the dough should fit.

Make a sweet, nutty filling. Grind selected nuts with a blender, mix with sugar, cardamom and vanilla.

If you don't have a blender, you can crush the nuts in a mortar.

Divide the matched dough into several small pieces. Make small balls of each, roll them with a rolling pin into flat circles with a diameter of 9 cm. Put the filling on the cakes (about 1 tablespoon each), and join the edges, pulling them out a little. You should get a shape like dumplings.

Decorate a shaker borax. Fold the edges in the shape of a pigtail, and make patterns on it with a special device.

If there is no such device for patterns, it's okay, the taste of shaker bur will not change from this, just the dish will not look so original.

Bake oriental sweetness in the oven for 20 minutes at 170 ° C. Make sure that the cookies remain light, they should not brown. Shaker borax is served to the festive table cold for tea or other non-alcoholic drink.
