Properties of green coffee

Coffee beans that have not yet been heat treated contain several substances that are believed to have a very positive effect on metabolism. Antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids are found in green coffee in their original form, and they are stored in raw beans much better than in roasted ones. Chlorogenic acid is especially valuable, which helps the body to actively break down fats, this is what provides the effect of the drink.

Despite the fact that green coffee is actually a semi-finished product, it is sometimes very difficult to buy it. It usually even costs several times more than cooked coffee. This is probably due to the fact that the drink is very rapidly gaining popularity; another likely reason for its high price is that rare companies selling green coffee have practically no competitors.

Regular coffee also helps to some extent to lose weight, but, according to experiments, green coffee is much more effective in this regard. Chlorogenic acid, which is contained in unroasted grains, promotes fat utilization, increasing its rate by 47%, that is, almost twice. Roasted coffee speeds up the processing of fat reserves by about 14%. Data obtained from experiments lasting one month.

If you decide to lose weight with green coffee, it is not enough just to drink it without changing anything in your lifestyle and diet. Physical activity is required, during which adipose tissue is processed, it is in combination with it that green coffee is able to show its miraculous properties.

How to make green coffee

Green coffee, like regular coffee, can be prepared in a variety of ways. Sometimes it is not easy to grind beans: not all coffee grinders can handle them, these beans are very tough and hard. The coffee becomes much more fragile after roasting, and the average grinder is designed for exactly this use. To get the powder from green beans, try using a meat grinder. Choose the most powerful mode. You may need to grind the mixture twice.

To brew green coffee in a Turk, add 2 teaspoons of ground beans per 200 ml cup. Fill with cold water. Bring to a boil, but remove the turk before the drink boils - just like with regular coffee.

If you prefer a French press, use the same dosage, but pour boiling water over the coffee. Wait 10-15 minutes: green coffee brews a little slower than black coffee.

Some regular coffee drinkers note that the green bean drink tastes rather strange. If you don't like it, try adding spices, berries, a little syrup or jam to the cup.
