In the Soviet Union, such a brandy was considered the standard of quality. This was due to the fact that mountain, crystal-clear water was used in the manufacture of cognac spirits, which, together with the wood of centuries-old oaks, gave a delicious aroma and taste of the drink. After the collapse of the USSR, Russia was flooded with counterfeit products that could lead to severe food poisoning or death.
