Instructions

Step 1

Dissolve honey in a liter of water. Try to use honey without bitterness, as a bitter taste can simply ruin the delicate taste of the drink. You should have a clear solution with a sweet honey flavor.

Step 2

Wash the raisins in cold water. Do not scald raisins with boiling water. Add it to the honey solution. Raisins will give the mead a special flavor and help improve the fermentation process.

Step 3

A jar with a solution of honey should not be sealed. It is necessary to provide the drink with an air flow so that the fermentation process is more active. You can just cover the jar with a saucer.

Step 4

Leave the mead to ferment for 2-3 days. If you are preparing a drink during the cold season, increase this period to four days.

Step 5

Take a clean funnel and place a piece of gauze folded in several layers in it. Pour the mead into a clean container by filtering it through cheesecloth in a funnel.

Step 6

Place the drink in a cellar or refrigerator. In two months, the mead will be completely ready for consumption.
