If you are not one of those who are used to making tea bags, you should familiarize yourself with the rules for choosing real tea, which are guided by sophisticated gourmets.

Step 1
Read the information on the packaging carefully. Tea cannot be just "Green", the label must contain a specific name, variety and place of collection. Ideally, information on the degree of fermentation and roasting should be written.

If possible, it is better to give preference to tea by weight. Most of the counterfeits are sold in packages. If there is an inscription like Made in China on the box, this is a fake. Genuine tea packaging should mention the China National Native Produce and Animal By-Products Import and Export Corporation, which is in the tea business.

Pay attention to the appearance of the tea. The more kidneys it contains, the better. Leaves should not crumble or wrinkle. The acceptable color range is light to dark green. A gray tint indicates the old age of the product or a violation of the production technology.
Step 4
Remember the main hallmark of high quality Chinese green tea - the aftertaste. Not only the rich aroma and exquisite rich taste are important, but also the sensation that remains in the mouth after drinking tea.
Step 5
Brew the tea several times. A fake won't survive this. Real green teas (especially oolong and pu-erh tea) can and should be brewed up to ten times. With each infusion, the taste changes, more and more new shades appear.

Please note that some Chinese teas cannot be bought, and everything that is sold under the guise of these varieties is fake. For example, the entire harvest of the famous Big Chinese Robe tea was donated to the museum in 2006, and a moratorium has now been imposed on the collection of this tea. Nevertheless, even in Russia, you can find mixtures under this name on sale.

Purchase teas (as well as coffee) in specialized stores, then you will reduce the risk of purchasing low-quality goods to a minimum.
