In the microwave, you can cook porridge from various cereals - from quick-boiling semolina to long-cooking buckwheat or barley. Choose the consistency you want - the finished dish can be runny, soup-like, crumbly or viscous. You can cook porridge in a deep dish or earthenware bowl, as well as in a special saucepan for the microwave. The latter option is especially useful if you want to prepare a meal for the whole family.

Oatmeal

Try one of the most popular cereals - oatmeal. To make the dish not only tasty, but also healthy, boil the cereals in water, and add milk or cream to the finished dish.

You will need:

- 4 tablespoons of oatmeal;

- 0.75 glasses of water;

- 0.5 cups of milk;

- salt;

- sugar to taste.

Instead of regular oatmeal, you can use an instant product, and replace sugar with honey.

Boil water in a kettle. Pour oatmeal into a microwave dish, add salt and sugar. Pour boiling water over the oatmeal and stir. Place the dishes in the microwave at full power. The porridge is cooked for about 3 minutes. Remove it from the microwave, add milk or cream and put the dish back in the oven for 1.5 minutes. Let the dish sit for a minute. If desired, you can add butter, jam or seedless raisins pre-brewed with boiling water into the finished porridge.

Buckwheat porridge

Buckwheat porridge is a healthy and satisfying side dish for meat or fish dishes. In addition, it is indispensable for those who follow the figure - buckwheat is rich in fiber, low in calories and has a high nutritional value. Under normal conditions, buckwheat is cooked for a long time, but it can be cooked in the microwave in just 10 minutes.

To prepare 2 servings you will need:

- 1 glass of buckwheat;

- 2 glasses of water;

- 30 g of butter or vegetable oil;

- salt.

Strictly observe the proportions of cereal and water. If there is not enough liquid, buckwheat will dry out without having time to cook.

Go through the buckwheat, rinse it with cold water. Place the cereals in a plastic or glass microwave-safe pot, season with salt and cover with water. Place the pot in the oven for 6 minutes at maximum power. Remove the porridge, stir it, cover the dish with a lid and place it back in the microwave for 5-6 minutes.

After the end of the cycle, leave the porridge in the oven for 5 minutes, then add oil to it, stir and place on heated plates. Cold milk can be served separately.
