It takes only half an hour to prepare soft, fragrant and hearty bagels or bread rolls for breakfast. The dough turns out to be similar to sour cream, but there are no fermented milk products among the ingredients. The dough is kneaded very quickly and requires the simplest and most affordable products.

It is necessary

  • Products:
  • • Wheat flour - 600 grams
  • • Granulated sugar - 1 glass
  • • Fresh, chicken egg - 3 pieces
  • • Margarine (butter) - 60 grams
  • • Salt - 3/4 teaspoon
  • • Baking powder or soda (quench with vinegar) - 3/4 teaspoon
  • • Vanilla sugar or vanillin - 2 grams
  • • Choice of topping: sugar, poppy seeds or sesame seeds
  • Kitchen tools:
  • • Mixing bowl
  • • Baking tray

Instructions

Step 1

Sift wheat flour into a dry bowl. Measure and add salt and baking powder to the flour. Just add baking powder as needed. If you don't have baking powder on hand, measure out the baking soda and extinguish it with a couple of drops of any vinegar. Apple is best, it is soft and aromatic. Pour vanilla sugar into flour and mix the entire dry mixture thoroughly.

Step 2

Measure out 60 grams of table margarine or butter. Melt the margarine until almost boiling, any way you want. It is easier and faster to use a microwave oven. Break the eggs into a bowl and set aside about half of one yolk in a separate cup. You will need it to grease the bagels.

Step 3

While the margarine or butter is melting, beat the granulated sugar and eggs in a blender. You do not need to whip a lot, just beat the mixture for 1-2 minutes at medium speed. When whisking in a thin stream, add melted margarine or butter. Turn on the oven for heating at 200-220 degrees.

Step 4

The resulting mixture is added to flour and smooth dough is kneaded. If the dough is very sticky to your hands, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of flour. Pieces of 30-40 grams are pinched off from the dough and rolled into flagella. The ends of the bundles are randomly connected and laid out on a greased baking sheet. Beat the set half of the raw yolk with a fork and brush the bagels with yolk with a culinary brush, sprinkle with sugar, poppy seeds or sesame seeds on top. Put to bake in a preheated oven for 7-11 minutes.
