Baking fish in the oven is one of the most delicious and dietary ways to cook fish. But to make the dish more satisfying, a side dish is almost always required for such a fish. It is quite another matter if you bake it in pita bread, which is soaked in aromatic fish juice and keeps it inside. Due to this, the food is very juicy and tender.

It is necessary

  • - any large size boneless fish (red fish, pollock, cod) - 1 piece;
  • - lavash - 3 pcs.;
  • - butter - 100 g;
  • - lemon - 1 pc.;
  • - dill greens - 1 bunch;
  • - ground black pepper;
  • - salt;
  • - foil;
  • - a baking dish or baking sheet.

Instructions

Step 1

Remove the entrails from the fish carcass, remove the fins, tail and head. Then rinse it under running water and pat dry with paper towels. If you have frozen fillets, then you need to defrost them naturally at room temperature, and then rinse and dry.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine a teaspoon each of ground black pepper and salt, and then rub the inside of the fish carcass and belly with this mixture. If the fish is large, it can be cut into 3-4 pieces if desired.

Rinse the dill and chop finely with a knife. Cut half the lemon into rounds. Divide the butter into several pieces - this will soften faster. Set one slice aside and put the rest in a bowl and combine with the chopped dill. Stuff the fish with the resulting mass, and also put a few slices of lemon inside.

Step 4

Grease one pita bread on one side with the remaining piece of butter. Put the fish on the oily side and wrap it tightly first with this pita bread, and then with the rest, so that there is not a single gap left. If your carcass is cut into pieces, then divide the pita bread in half and wrap a piece of fish in each half along with butter dill and lemon.

Then turn on the oven and set the temperature to 180 degrees. While it is warming up, put the fish in the pita bread in foil, fix the edges and put the blank on a baking sheet (if the fish is cut into pieces, then each of them will need a separate foil). Now send the baking sheet to the oven and bake the food for 1 hour.

Step 6

After the time has elapsed, remove the baking sheet, carefully remove the foil so as not to burn yourself with the hot steam, transfer the fish in the pita bread to a dish and cut into portions. If your fish is already cut, then the pieces can be immediately laid out on plates. Serve hot with the leftover lemon slices and a fresh vegetable salad.
