Savoy sponge cake appeared a long time ago. It is a traditional French dish, or rather its small region called Savoy. This pastry has a delicate porous texture and perfectly retains its shape. Try to bake such a wonderful dessert.

- - sugar - 250 g;
- - flour - 150 g;
- - corn starch - 50 g;
- - lemon - 1 pc.;
- - salt - a pinch;
- - butter;
- - powdered sugar.
Instructions
Step 1
First, break the eggs and place the whites and yolks in separate dishes. With the yolks, do the following: after adding granulated sugar, beat until you get a light mass, the volume of which has become larger than the original.
Step 2
Rub the lemon zest with a small grater, then mix it with ingredients such as cornstarch and wheat flour. Mix everything as it should.
Step 3
Add a pinch of salt to the proteins. Beat everything until you get a mass with a stable white foam.
Step 4
Add a tablespoon of the whipped protein mass to the sugar-yolk mixture. Mix everything properly. Then add a tablespoon of flour mixture there. Stir again. Do this until you run out of added mixtures. The result is a homogeneous dough for the Savoy sponge cake.
Step 5
Taking a round baking dish, the diameter of which is approximately 25-27 centimeters, place the resulting homogeneous dough into it. Do not forget to grease the mold with pre-softened butter before this.
Step 6
Bake the Savoy sponge cake for the first 5 minutes at 200 degrees. Then lower the oven temperature to 150 degrees and cook the baked goods for another 40 minutes.
Step 7
After the time has elapsed, carefully remove the finished baked goods from the baking dish, garnish with powdered sugar, and then serve with tea. Savoy sponge cake is ready!
