Homemade sugar candies - taste reminiscent of childhood. This simple treat, popular with many generations for centuries, remains a favorite today. And let modern retail chains offer a huge selection of confectionery products, but how can store-bought sweets compare to hand-made sweets? Making candy requires minimal costs: both material, labor, and time. And the process itself is extremely simple, even a child can handle it.
It is necessary
-
- Sugar
- water
- vinegar
- pan
- gas or electric stove.
Instructions
Step 1
Take 300 grams of sugar, 100 grams of water, 1 tablespoon of vinegar (or 0.1 gram of citric acid) and mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Optionally, you can add vanillin, food flavor (essence), color, honey, cocoa, fruit syrup - it all depends on the taste and imagination of the culinary specialist. If you use juice instead of water, it will give the caramel an original flavor and pleasant smell.
Step 2
Place a saucepan with sugar solution over low heat. While stirring constantly, cook the mixture for about 10 minutes, until it thickens and takes on a light golden hue. But do not cook the syrup until it is dark brown - this means that the sugar has started to burn.
Step 3
Check that the caramel is done by dropping the thickened syrup into a cup of cold water. If the drop immediately hardens and does not stick to your hands, the solution can be removed from the heat.
Step 4
Lubricate the prepared candy molds with butter or vegetable oil. Pour the prepared mass into them. If there are no special molds, you can use any available utensils or use a tablespoon to put the syrup in circles on baking paper. While the mixture is still warm, stick matches or toothpicks into it. You will get lollipops.
Step 5
Separate the finished candies from the mold after the mixture has thickened. Bon Appetit!
