German-style fish soup with dumplings is a very satisfying and at the same time delicious dish. Dried apple and plum added to the soup give it a spicy and unusual taste.
It is necessary
- - 500 g of eel;
- - 200 g smoked ham;
- - 100 g dried plums;
- - 50 g of dried apples;
- - 3 carrots;
- - ¼ celery root;
- - 2 stalks of leeks;
- - kohlrabi;
- - vinegar - 2 small spoons;
- - 2 tablespoons of flour;
- - 2 tablespoons of sugar;
- - a small spoonful of thyme, marjoram and tarragon;
- - 100 g of green peas;
- - dill;
- - salt.
- For dumplings:
- - 100 ml of milk;
- - 75 g flour;
- - butter;
- - salt;
- - an egg;
- - nutmeg.

Step 1
Salt the eel.
Step 2
Put the ham in a saucepan and pour in 1.5 liters of water. Cook for about 50 minutes. Remove the meat from the bone and cut into cubes.
Step 3
Soak apples and plums in water for half an hour.
Step 4
Cut carrots, celery, leek and kohlrabi into small pieces or cubes.
Step 5
Put vegetables and apples with plums into broth from under the ham. Simmer everything over low heat for half an hour.
Step 6
Dissolve sugar, flour and vinegar in half a cup of water. Pour the mixture into the soup. Send chopped eel, spices, dill and peas there. Cook for 10 minutes.
Step 7
Boil the butter, milk, nutmeg and salt. Add flour and stir until a lump of dough forms. Remove from heat and break the egg into dough.
Step 8
Boil the water separately and add a tablespoon of dough to it until it runs out. Cook for 7-10 minutes.
Step 9
Place the dumplings in the soup before serving.
