Step 1

Buckwheat is not just a cereal, but an edible seed of a sowing plant of the buckwheat family. Many tasty and healthy products are obtained from unboiled or steamed buckwheat grains by separating the kernel from the fruit shells. For example, buckwheat flour, made - crushed grains, kernel - peeled triangular grains, which we actually usually use for food.

First of all, remember that buckwheat should not be stored for more than twenty months. In this it is inferior to such cereals as rice and wheat.

To preserve buckwheat as long as possible, you need to sift it first.

Before storing it, buckwheat must be dried in an oven. If you have a lot of bags, this can take quite a while.

Then take the sifted buckwheat and sprinkle in opaque dry jars.

Close the jars very tightly with the lids and place in a dry, dark, cool place.

To make buckwheat crumbly, put it in a saucepan and fill it with water so that it only covers the cereal. Place the pot on the water and wait for the water to boil. Then reduce heat and add salt or aromatic seasoning. Close the lid and keep on low heat for about ten minutes. Do not lift the lid while the cereal is boiling. Next, remove the porridge from the heat, cover the pan with a towel and rest it for fifteen minutes under the pillow.
