Step 1

Make an English Honey Pie. To do this, put 250 g of honey in a pan with a non-stick coating, add all the sugar, add the butter cut into cubes. Heat over low heat until all components are dissolved and converted into a single mass. Then increase the temperature and bring the mixture to a boil; it should thicken slightly. Then cool the resulting mixture.

Step 2

Pour the eggs into a separate bowl and beat lightly with a whisk or fork. Pour them into the already cooled mass of butter and honey and mix. Then start adding flour to the dough, gradually, 1-2 tablespoons at a time, so that no lumps form. The resulting dough should not be too dense - it can spread.

Step 3

Grease a baking dish with oil, pour the dough into it. During baking, the cake may increase in size, so you should not fill the form completely with dough - one third of the height of the side should remain free. Place the pie in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for 30-40 minutes. The degree of doneness can be determined by piercing the dough with a fork or a toothpick - it must be dry, without traces of stuck raw dough.

Step 4

Remove the finished cake from the mold, without waiting for it to cool. This must be done so that the dough does not have time to stick. Prepare a honey topping for dessert. Heat the remaining honey from the dough and gently brush the top and sides of the cake with it. Leave it to cool. The dessert is ready to eat when the honey frosting has cooled. The pie is best served with freshly brewed English milk tea.

The original recipe can be supplemented according to your taste. For example, candied fruits are a good addition to the dough. You can make your own from lemon or orange peel. Remove it from the fruit, cut into strips. Make sugar syrup with a simple mixture of water and sugar. Boil future candied fruits in it for 10 minutes. Then cool and add to the dough at the last stage of cooking.
