To prepare buckwheat porridge in Vitebsk, you need to take:

- 1 glass of buckwheat;

- 4 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;

- 3 heads of onions;

- 2 carrots;

- 5 lettuce leaves (optional);

- salt.

Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet. Peel, wash and finely chop the onions. Place the onion in a skillet with oil and saute until light golden brown. Then transfer to another dish.

Sort the buckwheat, sift from flour dust (but do not wash!) And add vegetable oil to the remaining in the pan. Then mix the groats, lightly fry and cool.

Pour 3 cups of cold water into a saucepan, salt it, bring to a boil and add buckwheat. Remove the floating grains with a slotted spoon or a special spoon with holes. Boil the cereal for 5 minutes over high heat, then reduce it, cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 5-7 minutes. Then place a pot of buckwheat tightly closed with a lid for an hour in the oven.

Wash the carrots, boil in a little water and peel. Then cut one carrot into circles and chop the other with a knife.

Buckwheat porridge in Vitebsk can become an independent dish, or it can be a side dish for meat, poultry or fish.

Sort the lettuce leaves, wash, dry with a napkin and put them on the bottom of the plate, arrange the carrot circles in a circle. Mix the prepared buckwheat porridge with fried onions and boiled carrots and put on a plate.

Delicious and budget chicken dish

Inexpensive chicken dishes can become a real decoration of the table. Rich in vitamins A and B, linoleic acid, glutamine and protein, poultry meat is very useful, it is recommended to include it in the menu of children and the elderly. The cost of chicken meat is low, although such an easy-to-prepare dish like Basque chicken is suitable not only for the everyday menu, but also for a festive feast.

To cook Basque chicken you will need:

- 8 chicken legs;

- 250 g of long grain rice;

- 1 kg tomato;

- 250 g bell pepper;

- 2 onions;

- 3 cloves of garlic;

- 5 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;

- salt;

- pepper.

Rinse chicken legs, dry and cut or chop into 2-3 pieces each. Then fold into a large saucepan and brown in vegetable oil. Peel the onions, cut into thin half rings, add to the chicken and fry for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

If desired, the chicken can be prepared with the addition of any other vegetables (potatoes, eggplant, zucchini, zucchini) or mushrooms.

Dip the tomatoes in boiling water for 5-10 seconds, then immediately pour over them with cold water, remove the skin and, after removing the seeds, cut the pulp into large slices. Peel the bell peppers from the stalks and seeds, chop into strips.

Put prepared vegetables in a saucepan with chicken meat, add chopped garlic. Season with pepper, salt and simmer covered over low heat for 50 minutes.

Boil the rice separately, season with red pepper and place on a large flat dish. Lay the chicken pieces with vegetables on top.
