Focaccia is a traditional Italian bread baked at a high temperature, greased with olive oil on top, sprinkled with salt and herbs. You can add capers, olives, tomatoes, cheese and various spices to focaccia at your discretion, it turns out to be very airy and fragrant.
It is necessary
- For eight servings:
- - 4, 5 cups of wheat flour;
- - 2 glasses of water;
- - 25 pitted olives;
- - 3 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil;
- - 2 teaspoons of dry yeast, the same amount of salt;
- - fresh rosemary.
Instructions
Step 1
Pour 2 cups of water into a bowl, add yeast, stir, set aside for 10 minutes.
Step 2
After that, add almost all the flour, salt to the bowl, knead the dough. Put it on a floured surface, knead for another 10 minutes.

Roll the finished dough into a ball, place in a bowl, cover with a lid, leave to rise for 1.5 hours.
Step 4
Spread a baking sheet with olive oil, transfer the dough into it. Distribute it on a baking sheet, leave for ten minutes.
Step 5
Top the dough with olive oil, stick in the olives, sprinkle with chopped rosemary. Leave the focaccia in a warm place for 30 minutes.
Step 6
Pierce the dough with your finger in several places, place in a preheated oven (250 degrees), cook for 20 minutes. After 10 minutes, check the condition of the focaccia, the cake may start to burn, then immediately remove it from the oven. Serve warm.
