Directly squeezed juices

This series of drinks is the closest to natural. This is due to the fact that such juice is heat-treated only once and quickly canned, which allows you to preserve the maximum of vitamins and nutrients. In addition, according to GOST, it is forbidden to add dyes, flavors and preservatives to directly squeezed juices. Their only drawback is their rather high price. However, about 2% of directly squeezed juices are on the shelves, the rest are reconstituted juices and nectars.

Reconstituted juices and nectars

Such juices are obtained by evaporation of moisture from freshly squeezed juices and further dilution of the concentrate with water. Its amount in reconstituted juice can reach 90%, although manufacturers often keep silent about this. Colorants, sweeteners and preservatives are often added in the manufacture of these beverages.

Nectars

It is not always possible to obtain juices from raw materials (fruits with very dense pulp). For example, from bananas, mangoes, pumpkins, plums, pears, etc. get only nectars. Mashed potatoes are made from such fruits, which are subsequently diluted with water. The content of natural juices in nectars does not exceed 50%, the rest is water. It is forbidden to add dyes, preservatives and flavorings to nectars, but not conscientious manufacturers simply “forget” to indicate the presence of sweeteners on the packaging.

Juice drinks

These are drinks with a natural juice content of no more than 25%. Such drinks may contain colorants, preservatives, and flavorings. If at least one of the listed components is found in the composition, then the juice is no longer natural and not even reconstituted. These drinks usually contain a lot of sugar - about 2 tsp. per 100 ml.

Juice drinks

Do not confuse them with juice drinks. The mass fraction of juice in them is not more than 3%. The inscription "Juice" on the packaging with such a drink is nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Drinking or not drinking industrial fruit drinks is a personal matter, but still, it is better to make homemade fresh juices at least occasionally. They contain vitamins, fiber, and all sorts of preservatives, dyes are absent.
