An appetizing inexpensive recipe and the opportunity to surprise guests with culinary skills. While the lamb is baked in the oven, there is time to prepare the side dish.
It is necessary
- - 4 small mutton drumsticks;
- - 2 large onions;
- - 2 medium carrots;
- - 10 cloves of garlic;
- - 200 g of couscous;
- - 2 sprigs of rosemary, mint, parsley;
- - 1 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil;
- - 3-4 bay leaves;
- - 1 teaspoon of thyme;
- - salt (to taste).
Instructions
Step 1
Finely chop the garlic and mint, transfer to a small container, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Brush the lamb shanks with the cooked marinade and refrigerate for half an hour.
Step 2
Coarsely chop the carrots, cut the onion into 4 parts, divide the parsley into two parts, cut the stems into several parts. Crush the garlic.
Step 3
Transfer vegetables to a skillet and sauté for 10 minutes. Place the fried vegetables in a baking dish with a bunch of greens on top.
Step 4
In a frying pan where the vegetables have browned, fry the drumsticks until golden brown. Place the meat on top of vegetables and herbs. Cover tightly with foil and bake in the oven for 60 minutes.
Step 5
Open the foil and pour over the juices that have appeared on the lamb, do not cover any more with the foil. Place in oven and water the drumsticks every 10 minutes until cooked through.
Step 6
Prepare a side dish. Pour boiling water over a glass of couscous, but so that the water covers the cereal. Cover and set aside for 10 minutes. Chop mint finely, mix with couscous and salt, pour with lemon juice.
