Duck with oranges is at first glance a typical French dish, but at the same time it will always be considered exquisite. The spectacular appearance of the dish allows you to prepare it for a holiday or dinner party.
It is necessary
- - 1 duck;
- - 1 glass of white wine;
- - 50 grams of butter;
- - 3 oranges;
- - 0.5 glasses of Grand Marnier liqueur.
Instructions
Step 1
Peel and wash the duck thoroughly, removing excess fat. Salt the inside of the bird.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a large saucepan, place the poultry in it and fry it on all sides. Then add some hot water and wine.
Step 3
Simmer the bird for 45 minutes. If the duck is large, then increase the time to 1 hour. Add salt only at the end of cooking.
Step 4
Peel the oranges, cut the orange part of the peel into strips, remove the white part. Dip the sliced zest in boiling water for a few minutes, then drain the water.
Step 5
Squeeze the juice from two oranges and add it along with the zest and liquor to the bottom of the saucepan.
Step 6
Reduce the heat and simmer everything until cooked, the sauce should not be very liquid.
