This baked chicken liver recipe can be considered pretty good in terms of flavor. At the same time, it is a little unusual - you have to fry the liver just before stewing. Thanks to this heat treatment, the dish has a rich aroma and a creamy, firm consistency.
It is necessary
- - bread crumbs - 2 tablespoons;
- - sour cream - 500 g;
- - pepper;
- - salt - 1.5 tsp;
- - flour - 2 tablespoons;
- - bulbs - 450 g;
- - chicken liver - 1 kg.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the chicken liver in advance - wash it in running water, cut off the connective tissue and then cut into oblong pieces. If the liver is small, you don't need to cut it.
Step 2
Chop the onion very finely or into a quarter ring, whichever you prefer. Heat a skillet with vegetable oil over medium heat and sauté the onions in it until soft and slightly discolored.
Step 3
Put the onion and add more vegetable oil to the pan, turn the heat to maximum. Drain any liquid that has accumulated in the bowl of liver. Add flour and stir the mixture so that the liver is evenly covered with flour.
Step 4
Put the liver mass into a skillet and fry, stirring occasionally. Readiness is determined by the resulting fried crust. Note that the inside of the liver must still be moist. Season with pepper and salt.
Step 5
Brush the bottom of a baking dish with vegetable oil. Place the fried liver in it. Place the fried onions on the liver in an even layer.
Step 6
Pour sour cream into a frying pan from under the liver, also add pepper and salt - 0.5 teaspoon. Stir and heat sour cream over medium heat. You can add tomato sauce or grated cheese, or fried mushrooms to the sour cream, if desired.
Step 7
Pour the prepared sour cream solution onto the onion layer. Spread the ground crackers evenly on top of all this.
Step 8
Preheat oven to 230oC and place pan inside for twenty minutes. If the oven has a “top heating” or “grill” function, then 10 minutes after the start of baking, you can turn it on.
Step 9
Ready-made chicken liver baked under sour cream will amaze you with its taste. Serve it as a stand-alone dish or with rice, potatoes, noodles. You can use milk, kefir or compote as a drink.
