Step 1

Almost any type of rice is suitable for cooking in a microwave oven: both round-grain (Krasnodar) and long-grain (basmati). Rinse the rice several times until the water runs clear. Place a glass of cereal in a microwaveable container. A glass or porcelain bowl can play its role. Please note that the container should be large enough, since rice greatly increases in volume during cooking.

Step 2

Cover the rice with water. Make sure that there is enough water so that the cereals do not burn and do not stick to the walls of the dishes. Add spices and a little salt to taste. Alternatively, you can toss a bouillon cube into the bowl. If you put raisins or prunes in rice, then the end result is not a side dish, but an independent dish. Cover the container with a glass lid, heat-resistant wrap, or a china plate and place in the microwave.

Step 3

Set the microwave timer to 12 minutes and set the oven to maximum power. After the timer clicks, you can leave the rice in the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes - it will become much softer. After that, using an oven mitt so as not to burn yourself, remove the container from the electrical appliance and gently stir the finished dish with a wooden spatula. A fan can be used to quickly cool the rice.

Step 4

You can add a spoonful of olive oil or sour cream to boiled rice. And if you mix it with turmeric, then the finished dish will acquire a beautiful yellowish tint. After all the preparations are complete, the rice can be served.
