Shangi are common in the Urals and Siberia. This dish consists of flour buns with different spreads of sour cream, potatoes, cottage cheese. In this recipe, we will cook shangi with sour cream and potatoes.

  • - 300 ml of milk
  • - 30 g fresh yeast
  • - 100 g sugar
  • - 400 g wheat flour
  • - 3 egg yolks
  • - 200 g butter
  • - 500 g potatoes
  • - ½ tsp salt
  • - 120 g sour cream

Step 1

First you need to prepare the dough. To do this, dissolve yeast with sugar in warm milk, add flour there, mix well and place in a warm place until it doubles.

While the dough is rising, the yolks should be combined with sugar and grind them white.

Step 3

Add salt, yolk-sugar mass, the remaining flour and melted butter to the dough that has come up. Mix everything thoroughly. The dough will be sticky at first, but then it will loosely come loose from the sides of the cup. The dishes with the dough should be covered with a linen towel and placed in a warm place for 2 hours. During this time, the dough must be kneaded once.

Step 4

While the dough is coming up, you need to make a spread. To do this, boil it, heat it, add butter with milk and beat in a thick puree.

Step 5

Grease the baking sheet with butter. Form shangi out of the approached dough. Tear off a piece the size of an egg, roll it into a tight ball and knead it with your fingers into a flat cake 8-10 cm in diameter. Put on a baking sheet and hold the shangi for another 30 minutes. Then, with a teaspoon, coat the buns with mashed potatoes. Spread the sour cream with a fork and brush with a thin layer on the potatoes.

Step 6

The baking sheet should be placed in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and baked for about 20 minutes.

Step 7

Ready shangi should be greased with melted butter and wrapped under a towel for 30 minutes.
