Sweet rice with fruit is an Arabic dish. An unusual combination turns out. Rice contains 80% complex carbohydrates and 8% protein. It also contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6. These vitamins are essential for the nervous system.

It is necessary

  • - 1 head of onion
  • - 4 cloves
  • - 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • - 45 g butter
  • - 2 tbsp. l. granulated sugar
  • - 2 apples
  • - salt to taste
  • - 600 ml of water
  • - 200 g of rice
  • - 1 carrot
  • - 80 g raisins
  • - 50 g prunes
  • - 30 g dried apricots
  • - 100 g walnuts
  • - 2 bay leaves

Instructions

Step 1

First rinse the rice well, then put it in a colander and let it dry. Grate the carrots. Cut the onion into cubes.

Step 2

Melt butter in a skillet, add carrots and onions. Fry for 5-7 minutes and remove from heat.

Step 3

In another skillet, melt the butter, put the bay leaf, cloves in the skillet and fry for 20-40 seconds, then add 1 tsp. cinnamon and mix everything well, fry for 10-20 seconds.

Step 4

Chop finely walnuts, add walnuts and rice to the spices, mix everything well and fry for 2-3 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a skillet with onions and carrots and stir. Cover with warm salted water. Close the lid tightly and simmer until the rice is done.

Step 5

Take dried fruits, raisins, dried apricots, prunes, rinse well in a colander. Transfer them to a deep bowl and cover with hot water for 2-5 minutes to soften. Drain the water.

Step 6

Cut the prunes and dried apricots into cubes. Take apples and cut them into slices. Add apples, prunes, dried apricots to the rice, mix everything carefully, cover and simmer for another 15-20 minutes until fully cooked.

Step 7

When the fruit rice is done, open the lid and evaporate the moisture, remove the bay leaves and cloves and stir gently.
