Salad with corn and croutons: a step-by-step recipe

Ingredients:

- 1 can of canned corn;

Preparation

Prepare a deep bowl in which you will mix all the ingredients that make up this salad.

Throw the beans in a colander to drain excess liquid, and then rinse with cold water. Drain the corn as well. Place the vegetables in a bowl.

Peel a few cloves of garlic. For lovers of spicy food, you will need about 8 cloves, for a salad of medium spice - 4-5 pieces will be enough. Chop the garlic with a press or chop it very finely with a knife.

Season the salad with mayonnaise, add a little salt and mix everything well. Before serving, add croutons to the salad, mix again and put in a prepared salad bowl.

This salad turns out to be very bright and picturesque, thanks to the multi-colored legumes that are included in its composition. To make the salad even more unusual and contain more vitamins, you can add some fresh carrots, grated on a coarse grater, to the dish.

How to make croutons

It is not necessary to use ready-made croutons in the recipe, which can be purchased at the store. You can easily make them yourself if you wish. The easiest way is to dry your bread in the oven.

To do this, cut the bread into cubes with a side of 7-10 mm using a sharp knife. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. White bread is also suitable for these purposes. You can also cut it into cubes, or you can chop it into small strips. Choose different ground peppers as seasonings: black, red, paprika, white. Spicy herbs such as rosemary, oregano, basil will give the bread crumbs a unique aroma and specific taste.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Top with a thin layer of croutons. Place in an oven preheated to 120-130 degrees and dry the bread for 30-40 minutes, gently stirring occasionally.

To prepare garlic croutons, crush a few cloves of garlic, fry in a small amount of heated vegetable oil and stir with sliced bread. Then dry in the oven.

Do not forget that it is necessary to add crackers to the finished dish immediately before serving, otherwise they will turn into porridge in the salad.
