- For 6 servings:
- -800 grams of pork meat
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- -1 teaspoon paprika
- -1 teaspoon of onion powder
- -1/2 tsp garlic powder
- -3/4 teaspoon salt
- -1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- -2 cups of chicken stock
- -1 and 1/2 tablespoons tomato paste
Instructions
Step 1
Saute the pork on all sides over low heat. After it is browned on top, let it sweat a little more on the stove for the meat to come through.
Step 2
In a bowl, whisk together light brown sugar, ground red pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add the tomato paste to the chicken stock and beat until smooth.
Step 3
Pour the chicken broth mixed with the mixture from a bowl into the pan where the pork is simmering. Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer over low heat for 7 to 8 hours.
Step 4
Transfer the pork to a dish and drain off the fat.
Step 5
Serve sweet pork with potatoes, pancakes or Mexican dishes. Garnish with herbs and top with sweet sauce before serving.
