A Tatar pie like balish, cooked with potatoes and chicken, turns out to be not only very beautiful, but also quite tasty and satisfying. To make this pie, you will also need pork or beef with bones.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g wheat flour;
  • 150 g of water;
  • 800 g of meat (pork or beef);
  • 2 kg of potato tubers;
  • 2 lavrushkas;
  • sunflower oil;
  • ½ teaspoon salt;
  • 400 g of chicken meat;
  • 3 medium onions.

Preparation:

  1. First, prepare the meat. To do this, it is washed and cut with a sharp knife into small pieces and the bones are removed. The same is done with chicken meat, only it must be cut off from the bones.
  2. The bulbs must be peeled, rinsed thoroughly in cold water, and then, using a sharp knife, cut into small cubes.
  3. Potato tubers need to be peeled, rinsed and cut into small cubes.
  4. Now let's get down to making the dough. To do this, you should combine water, salt and vegetable oil, and then carefully add flour. Knead the dough, it should be quite elastic.
  5. Pour chopped meat and spices into potatoes and put lavrushka.
  6. The finished dough must be divided into 2 parts. From the larger one you need to make a thin cake (3 millimeters thick), and then put it in a greased tall baking dish. At the same time, the edges of the cake should hang decently from the sides.
  7. After that, you need to put half of the filling into the mold, and on top of it put the bones from which you previously cut the meat (do not use too small bones). Lay the second part of the filling evenly on top of the bones.
  8. Gather the edges of the cake together on top. And on top of it, lay the second part of the dough, rolled into a small cake. Connect everything so that there are no holes. You should end up with something like a saucepan with a tight lid on it.
  9. You need to make a hole on the "cover". Then take some dough and make a ball out of it, which should cover this hole. Place the cake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
  10. Take out the pie from time to time and check the readiness of its filling by moving the dough ball away. There should be broth inside the pie. If there is very little of it, then water will need to be added to the cake. Bake until tender. The finished cake should be coated with ghee.
