To make the New Year's table unusual and fabulous, you can prepare a gingerbread house. The cooking recipe is not as complicated as it seems at first glance, and the decorating process can unite the whole family on the eve of the New Year.

It is necessary

  • - half a glass of sugar;
  • - 2 eggs;
  • - 2, 5 glasses of flour;
  • - 50 gr margarine;
  • - 2 tbsp. l. honey;
  • - 2 tbsp. l. cocoa;
  • - 1 tsp. cinnamon;
  • - 1 egg white;
  • - 200 grams of powdered sugar.

Instructions

Step 1

Mix sugar and honey in a metal saucepan. We heat the resulting mass over a fire until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add cinnamon and keep on fire for a couple of minutes.

Step 2

Remove from heat and add cinnamon. The resulting mass must be thoroughly mixed. Add the margarine cut into small pieces to the still hot mixture and stir until the margarine is completely melted.

Step 3

Beat eggs in a bowl, then add the already prepared mixture of margarine, cocoa, honey, sugar and cinnamon. Mix everything well. Slowly add flour in small amounts, stirring thoroughly.

Step 4

Now we make stencils for the walls of the gingerbread house. Facade: length - 8.5 cm, height - 6 cm. Roof: rectangle 10 by 14 cm. End part - length 9, 5 cm, height 6 cm. The length of the corner parts of the end roof should be 9 cm.

Step 5

Roll out the dough on parchment. The thickness of the rolled layer should be about 0.8 mm. With a sharp knife, cut out parts of the gingerbread house according to the pre-made stencils. Cut out 2 times for each stencil. If you wish, you can also cut out the windows at home, and then you can simply draw them later. We use the rest of the dough as the basis for the house and decoration.

Step 6

We transfer the resulting blanks to a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 160-180 ° C for 13-18 minutes.

Step 7

To make the icing, beat the egg white until frothy, gradually adding the icing sugar. The minimum whipping time is 5 minutes. After that, pour the icing into a pastry syringe or bag.

Step 8

While the details of the gingerbread house have not yet been assembled, we begin to decorate it. We draw windows and patterns on the house. Don't forget to draw the door.

Step 9

Now, with the help of glaze, we connect the details of the house. Initially, we connect the side parts and end parts. After that, we glaze the joints with the roof and apply it. To make the house look better, make icicles from the glaze on the edge of the roof. We leave the structure for several hours until it dries completely.

Step 10

We rearrange our gingerbread house on a prepared tray with the base of the house baked from the remains of dough. Add various decorations if desired. The gingerbread house is ready for the new year.
