Despite the fact that cranberries are a winter berry, you can cook dishes with them all year round - they can be found frozen in almost any store.
It is necessary
- - 1 kg of beef,
- - 200 g cranberries,
- - 150 g bacon
- - 2 onion heads,
- - 2 tbsp. flour,
- - 200 ml of dry wine (better than red),
- - 1 tbsp. tomato sauce
- - 1 tbsp. honey,
- - 500 ml of meat broth,
- - seasoning to taste,
- - Bay leaf,
- - pepper and salt to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the meat into small cubes, blot with paper towels and set aside. Chop the bacon finely, chop the onion.
Step 2
Heat 1 tsp in a saucepan over low heat. vegetable oil, put the bacon there and fry until golden brown for about 2-3 minutes. Then transfer it to a plate.
Step 3
Add 2 tablespoons to the pan. sunflower oil, increase the heat slightly and fry the beef slices in 3 batches. Then transfer to a plate.
Step 4
Add the onions to a saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 5
Add bacon and tomato paste. Stir everything and fry for about 1 minute.
Step 6
Put meat, flour and paprika in a saucepan, stir and fry for 2 minutes. Pour wine and broth there, put honey, bay leaf with thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Then bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for about 1.5 hours. Then add the cranberries to the pot.
Step 7
Stir everything again, cover again and simmer for about an hour.
Step 8
Remove the bay leaf from the cooked roast. Serve with potatoes or rice.
