Lasagna is a hearty "pie" made from thin layers of dough, meat and creamy tomato sauce. The homeland of the dish is sunny and hospitable Italy, but you can find references to this phenomenon among the recipes of other nationalities.
Classic lasagna is unthinkable without meat, but more and more often today you can find recipes for cooking this dish with vegetables. At the same time, in terms of its basic composition, the food is very similar to squash caviar. For example, a simple vegetable lasagna is made with the following foods:
- 1 zucchini;
- 2-3 eggplants;
- 2-3 tomatoes;
- 1-2 carrots;
- 2-3 bell peppers (you can multi-colored);
- 0, 5 tbsp. milk;
- 200 g of cheese;
- 1 tbsp. l. butter;
- 1 tbsp. l. flour;
- 1 tbsp. l. sunflower oil;
- sheets of lasagna - 15 pcs.;
- salt, pepper and spices - to taste.
Cut all vegetables into medium-sized cubes and sauté in a skillet for 10 minutes, using salt, pepper and other additives as you wish. Stewed vegetables can be drizzled with cream (2-3 tablespoons) to make the mixture richer, with a fragrant milky flavor.
Place a few lasagna sheets on a greased baking sheet and then some stewed vegetables on top.
You can use ready-made dough sheets that do not require preliminary preparation, or you can use a paste, which should be boiled in water before baking, according to the attached instructions.
Alternate between dough and vegetables in a similar manner until all ingredients are in shape. Cover the dish with 2-3 sheets and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake the lasagne at 180 ° C for about an hour. If the sheets are boiled for lasagna, the cooking time takes from 30-40 minutes.
For a juicier meal, make a sauce with butter, milk, and flour. Pour the sifted flour into the melted butter, and then slowly pour in the milk. Constantly stirring the sauce, let it boil and bring it to a thick sour cream state. Lubricate each lasagna leaf with the resulting mixture and then spread the vegetable mixture.
For a spicy, savory lasagna, use hard and salty cheeses.
Various seasonings will also help to diversify the recipe, which can be added both to vegetables and to sauce. Most commonly, hot chili peppers, nutmeg, dill, parsley, basil, cardamom, turmeric, oregano and savory are taken. A glass of white wine, which, according to tradition, should be added to vegetables, is also not forbidden.
You can also include squash, broccoli, cauliflower in the vegetable lasagna recipe, or prepare the dish using green beans (in summer, they can be replaced with asparagus) and grated sweet pumpkin. You will need:
- 300 g beans;
- 300 ml of 10% cream;
- 150 g of cheese;
- 150 g of peeled pumpkin;
- 8-10 sheets for lasagna;
- 2 bell peppers;
- 1 carrot;
- butter and sunflower oil;
- spices to taste.
Simmer the vegetables slightly, then add the beans and simmer until half cooked, adding, if necessary, water. On a greased dish, place first a layer of dough, then vegetables, and repeat the process until all the ingredients of the dish are finished. Top with cream and cover with foil. Cook in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for about half an hour, and then sprinkle with grated cheese and simmer for some time until a golden brown crust appears.
