Tortillas are Mexican tortillas made from cornmeal that are very often used in Mexican cuisine. Stuffed with chicken, cheese, pepper and herbs, tortillas are perfect for a family dinner or for a picnic.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of tortillas;
  • 0.4 kg. chicken fillet;
  • 1 bunch of lettuce leaves
  • 1 box of cornflakes (not sweet);
  • green onions;
  • 1 red onion;
  • bell pepper;
  • 200 g cream cheese;
  • 150 g of hard cheese;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 2 tbsp. l. soy sauce;
  • 1 tbsp. sunflower oil;
  • 2 tsp seasonings "for chicken";
  • 2 tbsp. l. flour.
  • Caesar sauce optional;
  • 1 tsp hot chili sauce;
  • 2 tbsp. l. milk or water;

Preparation:

  1. Wash the meat, cut into cubes (approximately 1-1.5 cm), place in a deep plate and drizzle with soy sauce until it hits all the pieces.
  2. Place some chili sauce on top of the soy sauce and add chicken seasoning. Mix everything thoroughly, tighten with cling film and send for 1-2 hours to the refrigerator for pickling.
  3. Drive eggs into a bowl, add milk and flour, season with spices and beat well.
  4. Remove the marinated meat from the marinade and gradually, drop a couple of pieces into the beaten egg mass.
  5. Grind the corn flakes either directly in the package or on paper with a rolling pin. Then pour into a deep container.
  6. Dip the meat in the egg mass into flakes and roll well. If you don't have cornflakes, you can use breadcrumbs instead.
  7. Put all breaded meat in one layer on a plank.
  8. Pour oil into a frying pan and heat it up. Put the meat in one layer in hot oil, quickly fry on both sides and put on paper towels so that they absorb excess fat. If all the pieces do not fit into the pan in one go, then the frying procedure must be repeated.
  9. Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater. Wash the bell peppers, peel and cut into medium cubes.
  10. Put the tortilla on a plank and brush with soft cream cheese.
  11. Put a leaf of lettuce on top of the cheese, and on top of the salad - a couple of pieces of fried meat, pouring Caesar sauce over them.
  12. Put pepper cubes and grated hard cheese on the meat.
  13. Roll the tortilla into a small bag and tie with green onions so that it does not open.
  14. Repeat the tortilla stuffing procedure until all the ingredients are used up.

Put ready-made appetizers with chicken in tortilla on a platter and serve. Note that such snacks are very well transported, so they can be taken for a picnic.
