If you like to cook simple and tasty dishes, then you will surely like buckwheat cooked in a duet with juicy chicken. The food turns out to be very aromatic and appetizing. You will spend a minimum of effort, but you will get a full dinner. In addition, thanks to the available ingredients, it is very budgetary and does not require special financial costs.

It is necessary

  • - Chicken fillet - 500 g;
  • - Buckwheat unground - 350 g;
  • - Medium onions - 2 pcs.;
  • - Carrots - 1 pc.;
  • - Tomato paste - 2 tsp or tomatoes - 3 pcs.;
  • - Bay leaves - 2 pcs.;
  • - Ground black pepper;
  • - Salt;
  • - Sunflower oil - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • - Fresh herbs;
  • - Deep frying pan with a lid or cauldron.

Instructions

Step 1

Peel and rinse carrots and onions. Chop the onion into thin quarter-rings, and chop the carrots into small cubes or in the shape of a semicircle.

Step 2

Rinse the chicken fillet under running water and dry with paper towels. Then cut it into small pieces.

Step 3

Take a deep frying pan with a thick bottom and walls (cauldron), pour sunflower oil into it. Once the pan is warm enough, transfer the sliced chicken fillet into it and fry until blushing for 6-7 minutes.

Step 4

Then add the onion and fry it with the chicken until it starts to acquire a beautiful golden hue. Toss in the carrots and sauté for a few more minutes. Add black pepper and salt to taste. At the end, add the tomato paste and fry everything together for a couple of minutes.

Step 5

Meanwhile, rinse the buckwheat. Then transfer it to a frying pan, mix with meat, onions and carrots and fry for 1-2 minutes. Then pour in 500 ml of boiling water, put the bay leaf, reduce the temperature to the minimum value, cover with a lid and simmer until the buckwheat is cooked for about 15 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the finished dish from the stove and arrange in portions. Before serving, you can take the greens you like best, such as green onions, dill or parsley, chop and sprinkle on each serving.
