Delicious aspic according to an unusually simple recipe. Even a hostess who does not have much experience in cooking can cook such a dish. And if you show a little imagination and ingenuity, you can create a real work of art on a plate.
Ingredients:
- Pork or beef tongue - 400 g
- Carrots 1 pc.
- Egg - 2 pcs.
- Olives (olives) - 8 pcs.
- Gelatin - 25 g
- Salt
- Greens
- Spices optional
Preparation:
- Take your tongue, wash well and boil in salted water until cooked. Then cool, peel off the film and cut into circles. Beef tongue is cooked for about 2 - 2, 5 hours, pork tongue for about 1, 5 - 2 hours, it all depends on the weight.
- Gelatin must be poured with a glass of water (200 g) at room temperature and left for half an hour so that it swells. After 30 minutes, the gelatin must be dissolved in a water bath. Then mix it with the decoction in which the tongue was prepared. Strain through cheesecloth to remove pieces of undissolved gelatin.
- Take a large, deep container and place the chopped tongue on the bottom. Cut the pre-boiled, peeled and chilled carrots into pieces. Here you can apply your imagination and start creating. For example, lay out a pattern of carrots in the form of flowers, an ornament. The same manipulations are done with olives, eggs and herbs. The appearance of the aspic will entirely depend on your invention.
- The moment has come when the whole "composition" needs to be fixed with broth. This must be done very carefully so as not to spoil all efforts. The broth is poured gently with a spoon.
- Now for 1, 5 - 2 hours aspic is in the refrigerator. This time is quite enough for the gelatin to swell and firmly fix the ornament.
- Final stage. Pour the remaining broth into a dish so that the fixed vegetables are completely hidden under it.
