The aroma of citrus is a constant harbinger of the New Year. And the dishes prepared on the basis of these fruits give the feeling of the holiday long before it starts. One of these delicacies is chicken thighs baked in an orange marinade. And if you want to save a little, then such a treat is not a sin to serve on the New Year's table. After all, it looks spectacular, and tastes amazing!
It is necessary
- - Chicken thighs (or drumsticks, you can take a platter) - 1.5 kg;
- - Oranges - 4 pcs.;
- - Liquid honey - 100 g;
- - Garlic - 4 cloves;
- - Soy sauce - 5 tbsp. l.;
- - Ground black pepper;
- - Salt;
- - Vegetable oil - a few tablespoons;
- - Rosemary - several branches (optional);
- - Baking dish.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse chicken thighs under running water and dry thoroughly. Take three oranges and use a juicer or hand to squeeze the juice out of them.
Step 2
Let's prepare the chicken marinade. To do this, pour the orange juice into a separate bowl, add soy sauce, honey, a few pinches of ground black pepper and salt to taste. Peel the garlic, cut into thin slices and transfer to the spiced orange juice. Mix everything together well.
Step 3
Pour vegetable oil into a baking dish. Place the chicken thighs in it and pour over the prepared orange marinade liberally. And then cover the workpiece with cling film or foil and put it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
Step 4
When the chicken is marinated, remove the pan from the refrigerator. Cut the remaining orange into 0.5 cm thick circles and place them on top: one circle on each thigh.
Step 5
Turn on the oven, setting the temperature to 180 degrees. When it's warm enough, place the chicken thigh pan into it and bake for 1 hour. During this time, the form needs to be pulled out 2-3 times and poured over the meat with the released juice, so that the chicken is better saturated and juicier.
Step 6
Remove the finished dish from the oven. During the holiday, you can put all the thighs along with the oranges on a large platter and garnish with rosemary sprigs. Serve with fried potatoes and green peas.
