There are more larks with trdlo buns in Prague than souvenir shops. Those wishing to cook them at home will have to replace the special skewer with a rolling pin or other device. But the result is worth it.
It is necessary
- - 650 grams of wheat flour
- - 50 grams of cinnamon
- - 100 grams of nut
- - 30 grams of fresh yeast
- - 100 grams of butter
- - 2 eggs
- - 1 glass of milk
- - 6 tablespoons of sugar
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the dough with 1/4 cup warm water, yeast, a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of flour. Put for twenty-five minutes in a warm place so that the dough rises. Separate the yolks from the whites.
Step 2
Melted butter in a small ladle over low heat, poured into a bowl and mixed with yolks and milk. The remaining flour is added to the mixture and everything is combined with the dough. An incomplete glass of sugar and salt are added to the dough. A little sugar should be left for sprinkling.
Step 3
Elastic soft dough is kneaded by hands. The dough should be allowed to rise twice by covering the bowl with a damp towel and placing in a warm place.
Step 4
The finished dough is divided into equal parts, each of which is rolled out. The rolled pieces are cut with a sharp knife into long strips, the width of which should be about five centimeters.
Step 5
Each strip is wrapped around the base with an overlap. At home, for this purpose, you can use a cardboard tube or rolling pin wrapped in foil. Gently tuck in the edge of the dough.
Step 6
The dough wrapped around the base is carefully smeared with proteins on all sides using a cooking brush. The oven heats up to two hundred degrees.
Step 7
A mixture of sugar, ground nuts and cinnamon is prepared. The mixture is poured onto a flat plate and the dough is rolled over it. Place the dough bases over a small baking sheet and place in the oven.
Step 8
You need to bake the buns for about twenty minutes, remembering to turn the bases a couple of times so that the buns brown evenly. The finished buns are removed from the oven, cooled slightly and removed from the base. Serve the rolls hot, put on a dish and sprinkle with icing sugar.
