Lentils are not only extremely healthy, but also cook much faster than peas. In this case, the cereals do not need to be pre-soaked. Lentils go well with any type of meat, and are ideal as a side dish for fish.
It is necessary
- - any kind of lentil (260 g);
- –Fresh trout (140 g);
- - sun-dried tomatoes (6 g);
- - fresh onion (1 head);
- - carrots (1-2 pcs.);
- –Bulgarian pepper (1 pc.);
- –Dried celery to taste;
- - garlic to taste;
- - olive oil (7 g);
- –Salt to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the lentils first. To do this, rinse the cereals thoroughly several times in cold water. Next, pour out the water and leave the cereal for a while.
Step 2
Peel the onion along with the carrots and bell peppers. Chop with a sharp knife. Place vegetables in a skillet with olive oil in it. Crush the garlic with a knife or chop finely. Add to vegetables. Fry in a preheated skillet until tender.
Step 3
The next stage is the preparation of the trout. Scale the fish and carefully remove the skin, starting from the tail. Remove any large bones and cut the fish into large cubes. For convenience, you can use fish fillets, but this is a more expensive option.
Step 4
Add the cut fish to the vegetable skillet and grill the vegetables until tender. Then add the lentils. Pour in water so as to cover the lentils by 2-3 cm. Salt the dish to taste. Cook until the groats are tender. Do not forget to periodically remove the foam with a spoon.
Step 5
At the end of cooking, add dried celery, tomatoes and cover tightly. Let the dish sit for about 10-15 minutes. If you want the lentils and trout to turn out with the sauce, then add more water. At the same time, make sure that the cereal does not become too soft and does not lose its shape.
