Shish kebab is a very tasty and satisfying dish. This is probably why they cook it with pleasure during outdoor recreation, in the country; with friends, family or colleagues. It was originally roasted with lamb. At present, kebabs are prepared from various types of meat and their by-products, fish and even vegetables. For quick barbecue, it is better to take chicken, turkey or fish. Since they are relatively short-marinating and quick-fried, this saves time (if you have a little of it).

It is necessary

    • chicken thighs - 5 kg
    • kefir - 1 l
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • bay leaf - 7 pieces
    • three tomatoes
    • 3 kg onion
    • 1-1.5 lemons.

Instructions

Step 1

Take chicken thighs, rinse them thoroughly, put them in a colander and let the water drain.

Step 2

In the meantime, peel the onion and cut it into rings. The more it is, the more juicy and tasty the meat is (it acquires the taste of onions).

Step 3

Place the thighs in an enamel or glass dish (never aluminum). Then sprinkle the onion on top, squeezing it carefully in the palms of your hands. This is necessary in order for him to let the juice in which the meat will be marinated.

Step 4

Then fill the chicken thighs with a liter of kefir, sprinkle with pepper and salt to taste, put 7 bay leaves.

Step 5

Wash the lemon and tomatoes, cut them into rings and place them in the meat, squeezing the juice out of them. Mix everything thoroughly, close the lid and leave to marinate for 2-3 hours in a cool place. This time is quite enough.

Step 6

After the time has elapsed, light a fire, prepare the skewers for frying the kebab. Then start stringing the meat.

Step 7

Grill chicken thighs over charcoal until golden brown, turning them occasionally. At the same time, make sure that no fire appears (extinguish it by spraying with water). Otherwise, the meat will burn, which will impair its taste. The readiness of the kebab can be determined by piercing the meat with a knife. If no blood comes out, then the thighs are ready.

Step 8

Remove the prepared meat with a knife from the skewers, shifting layers of pickled onions.

Step 9

As soon as you cook the whole kebab, close the pan with a lid and let it brew for 20-30 minutes.
