The beneficial properties of raspberries have been known since ancient times. It is used in medicine, in cosmetology, in cooking, and…. All this is due to the fact that this berry is a real storehouse of vitamins and minerals. Unfortunately, raspberries are seasonal berries. But you can enjoy it in winter. To preserve most of the useful properties, you need to freeze raspberries correctly.

It is necessary

  • - trays or baking trays;
  • - paper or cotton towels;
  • - saline solution;
  • - containers or plastic bags;
  • - refrigerator or freezer with "quick freeze" function (although this is not necessary).

Instructions

Step 1

Collect raspberries. This should be done in dry weather. For freezing, varieties with a denser pulp are best suited (such a berry loses its appearance less when defrosting). Choose ripe, undamaged fruits. Unripe or, conversely, overripe raspberries are not suitable for freezing. Freeze raspberries immediately after harvesting, so they lose less nutrients.

Step 2

Clean the collected raspberries from stalks, leaves and other debris. Place in a colander and soak in saline for two to three minutes to remove bugs. After that, rinse the berries in running water. Leave it in a colander for about ten minutes to drain excess water.

Step 3

Prepare baking sheets or trays. Cover them with paper (cotton) towels. Place the raspberries on top of them in one layer. Place another towel over the top. Leave this way until the berries are completely dry. Skim the berries periodically, turning them as needed.

Step 4

When the raspberries are completely dry, transfer them to another baking sheet (tray) covered with plastic wrap. Arrange the berries so that they do not come into contact with each other (this is necessary so that it does not stick together when frozen). Place the raspberry tray in a freezer that is set to the “quick freeze” function.

Step 5

After the raspberries are completely frozen, remove them from the freezer and quickly (so that they do not have time to thaw) pour them into containers or plastic bags for further storage. You can store frozen raspberries in the normal freeze mode.

Step 6

Also, raspberries can be frozen without resorting to the layout on baking sheets. Just put it in containers in which you will later store, and place it in the freezer.

Step 7

Another way is to freeze raspberries with sugar. Put a layer of raspberries in a freezer container, sprinkle with sugar, put another layer of raspberries on top and sprinkle with sugar. And so alternate layers until you fill the container. The last layer should be sugar.
