Known from childhood, Mars (nougat bar) is an amazingly tasty treat. Many would like to try making it at home without the stabilizers and additives needed for the mass market and long-term storage. This article offers an easy recipe for making this chocolate yourself.

It is necessary

  • 450 grams of milk chocolate (about 2 glasses of chocolate drops or grated bars) - divided into 2 equal parts;
  • 120 grams (1/2 cup) chopped butterscotch toffee, divided into 2 equal portions;
  • 192 grams (3/4 cup) peanut butter - divided into 3 parts, 1/4 cup, 64 g each
  • 5.5 tablespoons of softened butter - divided into 2 servings: 4 tablespoons and 1, 5 tablespoons;
  • 1 cup of sugar;
  • 1/2 cup of condensed milk - divided into 2 equal parts;
  • 156 grams (1.5 cups) marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanillin
  • 500 grams of chewy candies.
  • Additionally (to cover the bars on all sides):
  • 230 grams of milk chocolate;
  • 60 grams of chopped creamy toffee;
  • 64 grams of peanut butter.

Instructions

Step 1

To start, combine about 230 grams of chocolate, 60 grams of toffee and 64 grams of peanut butter in a large bowl and microwave. Heat in 20 second intervals, stirring each time, until all ingredients are melted and blended together. This may take a few minutes, but take your time or you may burn the chocolate.

Step 2

When the mixture is ready, you can start shaping the bottom layer of the bar. Pour the chocolate with toffee and peanut butter melted in the previous step into a saucepan and spread evenly. Place the pot in the refrigerator until the mixture hardens.

Step 3

As you know from advertising, "Mars" is a bar with a thick layer of chocolate and nougat. For the nougat layer, combine 4 tablespoons of butter, 1 cup of sugar, and 1/4 cup of condensed milk in a small heavy-bottomed saucepan.

marshmallows.

Step 6

As everyone remembers, in addition to chocolate and nougat, the classic Mars (bar) contains a caramel layer. Combine 1/4 cup condensed milk, 1.5 tablespoons butter, and 450 grams of caramel in a small bowl. Heat on a low heat, stirring often, until the caramel melts in condensed milk and butter. Be careful not to burn the caramel. Let the mixture cool slightly and spread evenly over the nougat. Place the pot back in the refrigerator until it solidifies.

Step 7

For a thick layer of chocolate on top, combine about 230 grams of chocolate, 60 grams of toffee and 64 grams of peanut butter in a large bowl and microwave. Repeat all the steps described in the first step. Then cover the mixture of chocolate, nougat and caramel with the mixture, flatten the top and put it back in the refrigerator for a while.

Step 8

When all layers are firmly set, remove the pan from the refrigerator and lift the waxed paper or cling film by the edges to remove the sweet mass. Place it on a cutting board and cut into even bars.

Step 9

Optionally, you can prepare another batch of chocolate mass as described in the first step, and cover each bar with it on all sides. After that, the chocolate should completely freeze - and the treat is ready!
