Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the minced meat first. It can be purchased or made yourself. For dumplings, minced pork and beef are best. Salt and pepper the minced meat to your liking and mold into small balls (about the size of a walnut).
Step 2
Break two eggs into a large bowl, beat them with a whisk or fork, add salt and black pepper.
Step 3
Sift the flour and pour it into a separate deep bowl.
You should have three containers, in one of which is flour, in the second prepared minced meat, and in the third a beaten egg mass.
Step 4
Take the meat balls and use a tablespoon to place them in the sifted flour and stir gently. Then transfer the flour-boned balls to the egg mixture, stir again.
The thickness of the dough in lazy dumplings depends on how many times you dip the minced meat in the flour and egg. That is, the more times you do this, the thicker the dough will be. This recipe recommends doing this three times. If you make fewer layers, then the juice from the minced meat may leak out during the cooking process. The last layer should be flour.
If you want the dumplings to look neat, then just before cooking, our lazy dumplings can be lightly rolled in the palm of your hand, like meatballs, giving them the shape of balls.
Step 5
Put water or broth on the stove in advance for cooking dumplings and prepare a sauce for the broth.
Step 6
To prepare the sautéing, peel and wash the onions and carrots. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots. Pour oil into a heated frying pan, put prepared onions, fry a little and add carrots. Pour water into the pan, stew vegetables a little, at the end of cooking add tomato paste, salt, pepper or spices to taste.
Step 7
If you will cook dumplings in water, then if you wish, you can add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to the water to improve the taste.
For a beautiful rich yellow color, add a teaspoon of turmeric to water or broth.
Step 8
Cook the dumplings for 8-10 minutes over medium heat.
Serve lazy dumplings with sour cream and herbs.
